Dear Starr*,
We were best best friends. The type of best friendship that had a million code names that only we knew for the people we loved and hated, the type that had secret notebooks, the type that was always there no matter what and the type that never gave up. I had never and still have never had a friendship like that. A completely trustworthy, carefree, fun, happy, adventurous, perfect friendship. I remember we always said we’d survive high school together but we were wrong. We fell into the trap that most people do and i couldn’t be more sorry. I’m lucky though lucky to still be your friend, lucky you’re not completely out of my life. I’m glad we started the notebook again- it was always one of my favorite things in middle school. I’m so sorry for the drama we had to go through last year, and the billion ways i disappointed you.
Love, Alili.
